He has served as a board member and advisor for venture-backed and bootstrapped companies and has guided them to increased valuations and successful exits for their teams and investors. He is also an experienced entrepreneur and senior executive. As part of 6 founding teams, he has led the product management, marketing, and finance functions. His background in banking and wealth management has shaped the vision for Blueleaf.
Chris is a co-founder of Blueleaf and its founding CTO. As a director, Chris is an active advisor on technology and strategy. He is currently the founder and CEO of Brightgate. Previously, he was CEO of Philo, named to Fast Company’s 50 Most Innovative companies worldwide in 2014. He is an accomplished internet entrepreneur with several patents granted and pending on cryptography in auctions and financial markets, cloud computing, video compression, and natural language processing. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard where he taught a graduate seminar in computational finance, and is a chartered financial analyst.

He is also the co-host of Breaking Banks, the world’s largest fintech podcast, and Chairman of FinTEx, a non-profit growing the FinTech cluster across the Midwest. Jason is a frequent speaker on financial innovation, regulation, compliance as competitive advantage, the importance of diversity and the potential for technology to drive financial inclusion. He is on the FinTech advisory boards for the City of Chicago, the AARP, the Center for Financial Services Innovation Lab, and the SXSW Accelerator.
